Master builder and designer
Lego builder since 2004. His room? A showroom. His hobby? An obsession. His monthly ritual? Asking ChatGPT if he should buy more Lego, only to buy them anyway.
Behind the mountain of bricks is a patient instructor, a fun-loving person, and a man with a wicked sense of humour. Fuel him with Chagee and sushi, and he'll probably be happy enough to teach you how to build your own Lego masterpiece. Just don't ask him how much he's spent on bricks.
Workshop lead
When he's not busy with complex financial work, he's collecting books faster than he can read them or wandering around nature reserves for fun (yes, voluntarily). His greatest weakness? Anything sweet. His greatest superpower? Probably finding a way to justify one more book and one more scoop of ice cream.
Please do not leave him unattended in a bookshop or dessert parlour.
Ying Zhi: It began with a gift. My mum gave me the Lego Ideas Treehouse, a cosy little world I wanted to live in. I never knew bricks could do curves and nature like that.
After that, I tried to design my own...but I didn't know how much expertise it required, so I failed badly.
Sometimes, a brick doesn't exist in the colour you need. Or you don't know its name so you sketch it and beg reverse image search for mercy. It took years but the day it finally worked felt like unlocking a dream superpower. We've been there so you do not have to be.
Ying Zhi: Sometimes at 3am, an idea forms in my head, and I just want to build it. Real life runs on logic, but here it's just pure creativity.
My favourite build will always be my first MOC (My Own Creation), a cosy seaport full of weird animals, from chickens to penguins. I love the sea and a custom light kit makes it glow. I put it by my bedside so every night when I go to sleep, it reminds me how this journey began.
